Galvanized Products Can Withstand Rain but Not Trapped Moisture!
Summer Storage Tips for Galvanized Steel-Plastic Products During the Rainy Season
In the hot summer months, frequent rainfall and subsequent humid conditions can easily cause galvanized products to develop surface alkali efflorescence (commonly known as white rust). Therefore, dear customers (both new and returning), it’s essential to keep in mind the following storage tips for galvanized products during the rainy season!
Storage Conditions for Galvanized Products in the Rainy Season
1. Steel-plastic pipes and steel pipes should be stored indoors in a straight, flat position, away from heat sources. If stored outdoors, rainproof measures must be taken. They should not be left exposed to direct sunlight or extreme cold for extended periods.
2. The ambient temperature during storage should ideally be between -30°C and 45°C. When stacking, avoid direct contact with damp soil.
Handling Methods for Water Exposure or Moisture on Galvanized Products
1. If an entire bundle gets wet, disassemble it immediately and place the pipes in a ventilated area to dry.
2. If slight white rust or spots appear on the surface, disassemble the bundle promptly and dry it in the sun. Once the white rust turns powdery, wipe it off immediately and apply hot-dip galvanized spray paint for full coverage—this will not affect rust prevention.
Important Note: Galvanized products can handle rain but must not be left trapped in moisture! In hot and humid weather after rain, if water accumulates inside tightly packed products such as galvanized pipes or galvanized steel-plastic composite pipes, the trapped moisture can easily cause alkali efflorescence (white rust) on the galvanized surfaces. If an entire bundle gets wet, white rust may form within 1–2 days. Please take timely precautions, dear customers!
