Square and Rectangular Steel Pipes Standards GB/T 6728, ASTM A500 and EN10219
Square and rectangular steel pipes tandard GB/T 6728-2017
GB/T 6728-2017 Cold forming hollow sectional steel for general structure is the current national standard in China. This standard primarily specifies the technical requirements and applications of cold-formed hollow steel sections. It applies to high-frequency resistance welded round, square, and rectangular hollow steel sections formed by rolling cold-rolled or hot-rolled steel plates, covering indicators such as cross-sectional dimensions, shape deviations, and mechanical properties. The technical content includes inspection items such as surface quality, cross-section, dimensions and permissible deviations, weight deviation, yield strength, tensile strength, and elongation after fracture. It replaces the 2002 edition of the standard and adds specifications for thin-walled steel sections and requirements for edge perpendicularity.
Square and rectangular pipes standard ASTM A500
ASTM A500 is a technical specification for cold-formed welded and seamless carbon steel structural pipes developed by the American Society for Testing and Materials. It is mainly used in the fields of construction, machinery manufacturing, and infrastructure. It is divided into circular / square / rectangular pipes according to their cross-sectional shape, and is classified into four grades: A/B/C/D according to performance. The latest edition is 2023.
Square and rectangular steel pipe standard EN10219
EN 10219-1 is a technical standard of the European Union for cold formed welded hollow profiles of non alloy steel and fine grain steel, which specifies their production, inspection, and CE certification requirements and is widely used in steel structure engineering.
